Odds and Ends

In short, during the months of April and May, all this happened. I've been loving my woven leather bag (thanks Chelsea!) and sandals, wearing them almost everyday! I got to hear Br'er Rabbit live! And spring came into full bloom! And to wrap up a wonderful month, my birthday's next Thursday! Oh May, you never disappoint!

In the City

Urban Outfitters top, cardigan, and shoes, Target leggings, Forever 21 necklace, thrifted purse

Over spring break I got to fly over to Minneapolis to visit my sisters Caitlin and Chelsea! I had the best time hanging out with them and getting to help set up Chelsea's new apartment! While I was there, we did lots of shopping, eating, and outfit picture taking! So to sum up, a great break!

To document my trip I set up an Instagram so make sure and check out the photos I took!

The Little Details

UrbanOG dress, thrifted jacket, Converse sneakers

Gosh it has been quite a long blog break! I'm very sorry it's taken me so long to post. Spring always seems to be the busiest time for me because the one sport I play, tennis, starts up!
I bought this dress back in October but I haven't been able to show off the gorgeous little cut-out and gold buttons yet! It's a beautiful dress even with a jacket over it but I'm so excited for the weather to warm up enough to wear it alone.

Changing the Rules

Forever 21 top, Urban Outfitters cardigan, Target leggings, thrifted shoes, Chelsea's purse, New York and Company scarf

I just now realized how much brown and black/grey I'm mixing with this outfit! It used to be such a fashion "no, no" for me but now... pfft, I do what I want! Continuing with reflecting on today's outfit, I find that it includes three of my most amazing bargains! My scarf was originally $36 and I bought it for $4. My boots, $30 at Target and found at Goodwill for $6. And finally, my cardigan was originally $59 and I got it for $9!

Comment below and let me know what your best bargains have been!

Messing it Up

All photos via Pinterest

A couple years ago, whenever I did up my hair, I always wanted to make sure it was perfect. I thought perfectly straight, shiny hair, plastered to my head was the only way to wear it. And when putting my hair up into a pony tail or a bun, not a hair could be out of place! Oh how my feelings have changed! I now find myself in the mornings embracing second day hair by teasing it and messing it up just to try and achieve this effortless look! Ha! It's amazing how much makeup we put on to get a "natural" looking face and how much time we spend trying to get an "effortless" style.

Rain, Rain

thrifted skirt, top, and boots, Target tights, Cotton On scarf

Hello! I'm so glad I've finally found time to post after these past few weeks of finals craziness!
Last week I was complaining about how it hasn't rained in a while and about how I was missing it. Saturday came and it hasn't stopped raining since! Thank goodness I recently picked up these incredible boots from the Goodwill or I would have been at a loss of what to put on my feet this weekend!
Chianti/oxblood leather with laces AND top stitching AND fringe! How could it be that the perfect boots I've been looking for in my size were just sitting at the Goodwill waiting for me with a seven dollar price tag on them? I'm still pinching myself to make sure it's all real!

Stripes, Beanies and Buns

All photos via Pinterest

I've been seeing so many inspiring photos that go under these three categories! All of which I'm hoping to wear more of. I'm obsessed with how classic and fun these looks are! One of these looks I'm especially excited to try is the accessorized bun. It makes me want to go antiquing for vintage broaches and pins!
